The project involved designing and delivering a collection of site-specific artworks across the school campus. Each mural was tailored to its location, subject matter and audience while contributing to a cohesive visual experience throughout the school.
THE CHALLENGE
The school sought to create a stronger sense of identity throughout the campus while improving the visual quality of several high-traffic areas.
The challenge was to develop a collection of artworks that would:

LITERATURE & PERFORMING ARTS
The Performing Arts and English departments provided an opportunity to create immersive visual environments inspired by movement, storytelling and dramatic expression.
Large-scale monochromatic figures transform a previously ordinary corridor into a theatrical experience, creating a strong sense of identity for the department while encouraging students to engage with the creative arts.
Additional murals explored Shakespearean themes through contemporary portraiture and visual storytelling, creating memorable educational spaces that connect literature with large-scale public art.
SCIENCE & INNOVATION
The Science and Innovation spaces were transformed through a series of artworks celebrating exploration, discovery and human achievement.
The astronaut mural became a focal point within the department, encouraging curiosity and imagination while reinforcing themes of scientific advancement and exploration.
Supporting artworks explored engineering, anatomy and technology, creating visual connections between academic subjects and creative expression.
NATURAL HISTORY & ENVIRONMENT
Environmental and wildlife themes played a significant role within the wider project, creating opportunities to celebrate the natural world through large-scale artwork.
The elephant mural combines realism, scale and visual impact to create a memorable educational feature while encouraging engagement with environmental and conservation themes.

PROJECT SCALE
The Truro School commission involved the creation of 17 individual murals across multiple departments and learning environments.
